Coach Mike Ray at Mike Ray Studios was, I feel the best thing that could ever happen in my son's Kielan life. His coaching skills, from the learned to the unlearned, are handled with such patience and self control. He has a nake with his coaching techniques from the young to the adults. Coach Mike genuinely cares about his students. It's not all about money or a time frame with him... It's very rare to find a coach, teacher, or trainer that has no limits when it comes to their most valuable time. He continually gives of himself unselfishly. He is very professional and personable but yet has a stern style of coaching all wrapped into one. Kielan also learned a great deal in his voice over class with the adults and one other young student but they were challenged by that and stepped right up to the plate with his expertise. It's all about his students success and that is what meant the most to my son Kielan and I. The end result of only 4 months of advanced classes@ The Actor's Scene under his tutor ledge recently landed my son Kielan contracts with Atlanta Georgia's best J. I have been to many acting schools from New York to Georgia. I have never met anyone who possesses the extent of the gift of communicating, and enthusiasm for a difficult craft. I also learned how to avoid "Acting" and instead to convey the truth of a character.There was never a moment of boredom. You could be a hard task master, as you have never tolerated mediocrity. But the result was always worth the hours of rehearsing, refining, and searching. Thanks to Nicole also for hiring the best instructors to make us our best. Mr. Mike you are the best. Mike, Words accurately can't express how thankful I am for all you have done for my daughter. You have a God given talent for bringing out the best in young actors/actresses. I watched the metamorphosis of my daughter from a shy, timid young girl into a confident young actress. I am genuinely amazed as to how you brought out her hidden talent by using simple games. You made acting fun and enjoyable for a young girl that wasn't sure about herself. I can't thank you enough for being the best acting coach she could have. You have fostered the actress in my daughter. You are in all honesty a blessing and God send in her life. I thank God for your intervention into her life. The experiences are awesome. You have given her life learning knowledge that she will use forever. You taught her discipline, respect, concentration, set etiquette and acting skills. Thank you so much for teaching your excellent voiceover workshop and for working with Ethan to record the voiceover demos that we posted online. Ethan learned a lot about how to work in a real studio and how to better use his voice. He really enjoyed your class.

I also want to thank you for the outstanding editing of his commercials and the flexibility of having a 1 minute and 2 minute version, we were able to send them on to his agency and they immediately posted the recordings for review from potential voiceover clients.

I appreciate having the personal copies to send to voiceover casting agents for possible roles. The demo was so good, that we received a call from Universal Animation already requesting Ethan to read for an upcoming role in The Lorax. This is so exciting!

Mike Ray was an awesome voiceover coach with me during my sessions. He helped me to make sure I fully developed my characters for auditions, as well as keeping them very distinct and separate. He showed me special techniques with volume, presence, and also showed me how to bring the most energy I could to my work. I've been told for years, that I should do voice-overs. I put it in the back of my head for years. Then I met Mike Ray (thru his radio show "He Said, She Said") I noticed on his website that he offered voice-over training. After much coaching, I was able to make my first demo. Afterward, I was scared to send it to an agency. But, after about 5 months, I finally sent it out to a few agencies. I was picked up by a agency in Atlanta and one in Nashville. Two weeks after joining the agency in Atlanta, my agent sent me a script for a Publix commercial. I had to go back to Mike Ray Studios to make my audition mp3. He helped me not only with coaching for the audition, but showed me how things would be in the studio, for a job. After sending in my audition, I was concerned after not hearing anything for a few weeks. Then the email came that I got the job! First audition and I get it. Now, I can't say that will happen for everyone, but when you have a good coach, it helps a lot.
